WHERE DO WE MEET:

I launch from 2 different locations in Marathon and 1 in Big Pine Key. I will decide where to launch the day before our trip. It mainly depends on how the fishing is in each particular region. 90% of the time I launch in the middle of Marathon.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All trips depart between 6:30 and AM 7:30 AM unless another time is arranged. During tarpon season, we could leave dock as early as 6:00 AM. We usually meet 15 to 30 minutes ahead of departure time

Please let me know if you are bringing your own fishing gear.

If you are looking to catch a specific species, please let me know ahead of time. I will tell you if it is the right time of year for that species

Please be flexible on the type of fishing to be done. Some times certain weather patterns can change certain types of fishing for better or for worse.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What type of sunglasses should I have?

Polarized AMBER colored sunglasses work best in the shallows. Any gray colored lens with make seeing fish much more difficult.

Do you provide food and drinks?

I provide a cooler with ice and water. You are welcome to bring any food or beverage of your choice. Beer is allowed. Hard Alcohol is allowed with caution. I've had clients get pretty drunk in the past. I actually had one guy launch himself off the boat as if he were competing in the Olympics. If you are casually drinking, I am totally fine with that but just don't get Captain Jack Sparrow drunk.

Do you provide bait and tackle?

I provide all the equipment you'll need for a day of fishing. Bait is included. If you want to bring your own gear, that's 100% fine as long it's good enough to do the job at hand. All my fly rods are top of the line Thomas and Thomas fly rods with Hatch and TIbor reels.

You do not need a fishing license. I already pay a yearly fee that covers your day of fishing

Can I use my phone to record all the fishing spots we are going to?

No. This is highly frowned upon. I can't even believe I have to list this but this has actually happened to me. If you do get caught, you will get a nice ride back to the dock.

What happens if my wife needs to go to the bathroom?

Well, we have a few options. Most areas I fish in and around Marathon are close to shore. There are places we can stop for a potty break. If we are out in the middle of nowhere, well, the wifey can either hop in the water or pee off the side. The dudes have the advantage here, sorry ladies.
